Hello, lovely.
Welcome to my little sliver of the internet. I’m Jessica.
I write obsessive and gut-wrenching romance novels, which is code for “I like to put my characters (and my readers) through hell before allowing them to finally be together.” I sound like a super-cool villain with a psychotic streak, but in reality my life is very ordinary, drama-free, and probably boring to anyone watching. (Which would be weird. And creepy.)
I married my high school sweetheart, and a few years ago he built me a library with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. When that happens you know you’ve met your soul mate. I’ve dreamed of being an author since I was six and wrote my first “book,” which was ten pages long, about a girl named Mary getting lost in the woods. (It was never published, fortunately, so spoiler: she was eventually rescued.)
My best writing is done at that giant roll top desk, epic music blaring so I feel like I’m basically watching a movie in my head. In another life, I would live in England in a sprawling manor house with hidden passages and secret stairways and three libraries, but for now, I’m content with my old brick farmhouse in the midwestern United States.
Some of the things that make me weird include (but are certainly not limited to):
Homebody who loves to travel
Hate phone calls, except with my sister
Quiet in public, loud at home
Adore the scent of coffee but can’t drink it
Borderline obsessed with Kate Middleton (seriously, if you have a connection…)
Get embarrassingly excited about rainy days
Adore ice cream and salads (but not together, gross)
If that didn’t scare you off, I think we’re destined to be friends! I would love to get to know you. For real. I know people say that and don’t mean it, but I actually do. Send me an email at hello@jessicajude.com and join my very pretentious Privy Council (which is just a fancy-schmancy name for my group of newsletter subscribers).
P.S. Yes, Jessica Jude is a pen name, because it sounds 100x cooler than my actual name.
